This weekend the World Rally Championship returns to Greece with the long-awaited debut of Gryazin on the Fiesta M-Sport and the “tricolor” land in Sardinia is back with new opportunities for good appearances.
Reggio Emilia, September 8th – 2021
Movisport’s activity never stops, across the board. Great anticipation this weekend at the world rally in Greece, with new and exciting “world championship” dynamics. Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov, at the ninth round of the World Rally Championship will get off the usual VolksWagen Polo GTi R5 to get on a Ford Fiesta R5 of the official M-Sport team. It is an important opportunity for the young Russian rally driver to make the leap in quality and present himself at the top in view of the 2022 season, a reason for technical and sporting growth that therefore looks to the horizon.
There will also be the great attention of the Italian Rally Gravel Championship, at the Rally del Vermentino, in Sardinia, where Umberto Scandola and Danilo Fappani, on the Hyundai i20 R5 will go in search of a new success, to reach the top of the championship standings for this it is the penultimate test on the calendar.
Attacking decisively and defending against opponents determined not to let go will be the dual task of the driver from Verona who is still flanked by the Brescia co-driver as Guido D’Amore is still recovering.
Eyes also focused on Zelindo Melegari and Manuel Fenoli: with their Subaru Impreza Sti they also hatch their intentions for success in Group N, a laurel that could make them put a serious mortgage on the type of cars derived from the 4×4 series.
Giuseppe Pozzo – Pietro Paolo Cottu will also be at the start of the race on a Skoda Fabia Evo.
There will also be the “cumbersome” and eager redemption presence of Andrea Tonelli – Roberto Debbi with their red and unmistakable Ford Escort RS, participants in the tricolor rally stage for historic cars on the ground (CIRTS). Having skipped the stages of San Marino and Arezzo, Tonelli finds himself with his back to the wall, a competition from inside or outside where he can play his last chance to compete for the historic tricolor. Scrolling through the absolute provisional of the “two-wheel drive”, in a CIRTS key, the standard bearer of the Reggio team would appear in sixth place but with ample opportunity to join the podium.
